Good neighbours can make life so easy and pleasing.

 That's why when Bernie Jory moved in next door, great bloke, musician, lyricist that he was, played all the right notes for us!

 Sadly our friendship was cut short by the terrible illness that cost Bernie his life.

 We were so looking forward to the warm summer evenings when we could share a beer, or two, with him and Barbara in the back garden chatting about his many exploits in the world of music, the fellow musicians he played with and alongside and the many gigs he performed throughout Europe and elsewhere.

 We will never know about the colourful life Bernie led.

 One vision that will always remain vivid with us, however, is the sight of Bernie tapping on his downstairs window, big wide smile, curtains brushed aside, giving the big thumbs up every time he saw us!

 Rest in peace dear friend wherever you are.
